PIA HARRIS

Performing Arts WA award winning creative, Pia Harris is a music director, conductor, arranger and soprano based in Perth, Western Australia after several years in London. Since her Masters at Royal College of Music London and training programmes at English National Opera and the National Opera Studio, she has sung extensively as a Principal artist performing at Royal Albert Hall and Carnegie Hall with Opera Holland Park London and New York Lyric Opera, and at West Australian Opera, most notably as ‘Gretel’ in West Australian Opera’s Hansel & Gretel | Opera in the Park for an audience of 12,000. Director of music at Breaksea, Pia has performed, music directed and conducted many large scale projects over the last 6 years, most recently music directing and conducting Breaksea’s Caretaker at Fridays Studio and performing in Breaksea’s Circuitwest tour of Magical Weedy Seadragon. Pia is currently an Advanced Scholar and UWA choral society fellow on the Perth Symphony Orchestra Women on the Podium Conducting Programme.

For West Australian Opera, Pia has worked as off stage conductor on WAO Otello, conducted WAO Opera in Kalgoorlie, and delivers many choral projects for the company. Next year for Breaksea, Pia is music directing two choral projects in the East Kimberley and Great Southern, the youth ensembles performing at the Ord Valley Muster and Albany Entertainment Centre respectively. Pia has recently arranged vocal and choral parts for Aliwah Bardinar! a new interactive children’s show by superstar duo Gina Williams and Guy Ghouse premiering at Albany Entertainment Centre and Awesome Arts Festival in 2025. In addition, Pia will be conducting the Breaksea Youth Ensemble & Aquinas College Schola Cantorum in these performances. Pia continues to direct the Joondalup Symphony Orchestra Chorus with over 100 participants.
